About Satheesh Kanna

I was born and brought up in Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu. From my childhood, I was interested in drawings and paintings. In1996,with the help of my brother Shanmugasundaram, I joined in College of Fine Arts, Kumbakonam and also completed my Masters in Fine Arts in 2003, Chennai. Now I am enjoying my journey as an “Artist” & also as “Digital Artist” in the Gaming Industry.

A short explanation about my paintings and why I preferred to be an Artist:
It’s basically an eagerness in my conscious and subconscious mind. All my paintings start from fundamentals such as Dot, Line, Geometrical Forms, Regular and Irregular Forms. With the help of those fundamental forms, I am trying to incorporate my internal & external visions with this India’s most well known spiritual and colourful place “Banaras” [Varanasi]. For that, I need a canvas and colours to express myself as an artist, in a professional way. These basics are the birthplace for my “Banaras” series Paintings.

Apart from this, my inner likes and dislikes play a major role in my output. This will allow me to enter energetically into the new world. It will reflect and evoke my inner feelings into space. This state of mind helps me to do a painting and to realize myself as well. Most of the time, I prefer to touch some abstract forms from my innermost senses, which the exterior logical world doesn’t allow, all the time. In such moments I never feel bad, just I enjoy the temperament and express them in the form of Art. So whatever I see and feel I paint, as long as I can. It allows me to concentrate on one process, which also can be said as meditation. Let’s Meditate & live a colourful life.
